Over the past 9 years, I’ve worked with youth, young adults, adults, and families in various capacities. I’ve had the opportunity to be an orientation leader, team organizer, and student professional staff while an undergrad at UTSA; a direct care staff and program manager in a residential treatment setting; a caseworker with child protective services; in a variety of roles at a vocational trade and alternative job center as career counselor, trade instructor, and residential living supervisor; a camp mental health aide/counselor; a family specialist focusing on Solution Focused Brief Therapy; a case manager and mental health court case manager for a private defender service organization; and, most recently, in my previous role with CSC, an Intern Associate and Senior Intern Associate.
Throughout my time in these roles, in my personal, professional, and educational journey, I’ve taken a personal interest in servicing marginalized populations who have experienced complex developmental trauma. Having experienced my own form of complex developmental trauma and learning about the difficulties that this can provide as it relates to emotional navigation, regulation, and processing; relationship management; familial interactions; and much more. As a BIPOC-identifying provider, I know the challenges and stigma around seeking mental health services, and I’m here to dismantle these norms. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of social work roles, providing direct care to individuals, case management services, group services, education in activities of daily living, and counseling services.
I’ve enjoyed working with such a wide variety of people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures. I look forward to continuing that work with Con Safos Counseling as an Associate Clinician.
Thank you for being a part of the CSC Community and for the opportunity to serve this community.
