For nearly a decade, I’ve worked with youth, adults, and families in a variety of settings — including residential treatment, child protective services, vocational training programs, family therapy, and mental health court case management. Alongside this professional experience, my own journey through complex developmental trauma has shaped the way I understand people’s stories. It has taught me that what often appears to be “bad choices” or “failures” are frequently survival strategies — ways people have coped with profound pain.
In therapy, I strive to create a space where healing feels possible. I use a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and flexibility. Whether your path includes harm reduction, abstinence, or something in between, we’ll tailor care to your goals and pace. My work integrates evidence-based tools such as motivational interviewing, CBT, mindfulness, and relapse prevention strategies, always grounded in compassion and cultural humility.
I am especially passionate about serving Black men and BIPOC communities who are often underserved or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. Here, you don’t have to leave parts of yourself at the door — all of you is welcome. I believe healing is not a straight line: some days bring progress, others feel heavy. Both are part of the journey, and together we’ll make space for it all.
Outside of my work, I find balance with my wife and our three daughters, who keep life full of joy and laughter. I’m also a fan of sports, anime, and video games, and I enjoy traveling with my family. These everyday joys remind me that healing and growth are not just found in the therapy room — they’re also woven into daily life, connection, and play.
It’s an honor to be part of the Con Safos Counseling community, and I look forward to walking alongside those who entrust me with their stories.
