I began my own therapy journey at 16 years old, during one of the lowest points in my mental health. While it wasn't my choice to start therapy, and I doubted it could help me, it didn't take long for me to realize the profound impact that mental health care could make on my quality of life. Therapy gave me the tools to become comfortable with my queer identities, accommodate my neurodivergent brain, and develop healthy relationships. As I entered adulthood, I felt a deep calling to "pay it forward" and provide the care for others that was so lifesaving for myself.
I graduated in 2015 from St. Edwards University with a Bachelors in Social Work, and have spent the last decade exploring all corners of the social service world. From working with teens in the school system to working with older adults in a group home, I learned how to help others by getting down in the dirt with them during some of their toughest moments, and figuring out how to get through them together. My experience working in with people from such a wide range of backgrounds has informed my perspective and approach as a therapist, and inspired me to go back to school for my graduate degree. I graduated in June 2026 with my Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver.
As a therapist with Con Safos Counseling, I take the same approach with my clients as I always have – I walk through the struggle each person is going through, always letting the client take the lead when they can, and we work together over time to find the path they need. No matter the challenges my clients are experiencing, I provide a safe space where that person can feel empowered as the expert on their own life, and become able to make the changes they want or need. I show up to sessions authentically, compassionately, and occasionally accompanied by one of my 5 cats.
If you are looking for an accepting and accessible place to begin your therapy journey, I would love to hear from you. We can do this together.
